Welcome to the Get Going with G.E.T. blog. I created this blog to share stories and experiences from travels over the past 30+ years that my husband and I have had the good fortune to share. From the wonders of the orient to the crown jewels of Europe, and all points inbetween, I hope that you will enjoy reading about and seeing a few highlights of truly amazing destinations. Giant's Causeway, Country Antrim, Northern Ireland

The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles northeast of the town of Bushmills.

    Montserrat, Spain

Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey located on the mountain of Montserrat, in Monistrol de Montserrat, in Catalonia, Spain. It is notable for enshrining the image of the Virgin of Montserrat.

    Antonio Gaudi's Barcelona

No visit to Barcelona would be complete without examining the unique creations of its renowned architect, Antoni Gaudi. An architect from Reus, Catalonia, Spain, he is the best known practitioner of Catalan Modernism. Gaudí's works have a highly individualized and distinctive style.

    Mdina, Malta

Mdina, also known by its titles Città Vecchia or Città Notabile, is a fortified city in the Northern Region of Malta, which served as the island's capital from antiquity to the medieval period.

    Valletta, Malta

Massive, ochre stone walls thrust their way up out of dark waters to embrace the harbour and touch a sparkling blue sky. From a cruise ship, this is the first view of Valletta, Malta’s capital, and instantly recalls its storied past as a fortress vigorously defended by crusader knights.
